Job Position : Senior System Administrator
Job Description :
Responsibilities:
• Setup and maintain all IT systems, processes, infrastructure and servers
• Configuring and managing all server systems including apache/nginx, cache servers and load balancers
• Develop and maintain enterprise system architecture. Define standards and protocols for data exchange, communications and integration of different systems
• Define and execute capacity planning and monitoring processes for all infrastructure and data-center technologies
• Responsible for architecting deployments for high availability, scalability and reliability
• Maintain the highest levels of service goals with a view towards continuous improvement and innovation
• Script and code tools (in shell/perl/ruby/python etc) for automation and efficient management of sites/products
• Puppet configuration management.
• Participate in on-call rotation to handle site outage incidents
Requirements:
• Good experience in the field of IT operations, web systems, network administrations and systems integrations
• 4+ years of experience in Linux system administration
• Working knowledge of computing and networking hardware including PCs, servers, hubs, switches, routers etc
• Broad and deep experience with web operations from server automation to cloud computing
• Highly organized, efficient and thorough. Proactive and self-driven individual with extremely good communications and interpersonal skills
• Agile/Scrum working practice is a plus
Technical Skills/Knowledge Required:
• Linux: Linux Systems, Any Shell/Bash, sed/awk/grep/egrep, VI/VIM/Emacs, netstat, lsof, strace, ps/top/atop/dstat, grub boot config & systems rescue, fstab/disk labels, ext3/ext4, tcpdump/wireshark, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc), run-levels & startup scripts, sudo/chroot/chkrootkit/rkhunter, systemtap, gdb, oprofile, Async IO, NIO etc
• Fundamentals: DNS & Networking Fundamentals, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing Concepts.
• Storage: RAID, SAN, NAS
• Application Protocols: DNS/SMTP,HTTP,FTP,IMAP,POP
• Applications: Nginx/Apache (mod_php, mod_fcgid, CGI, php-fpm etc).
• Databases: MySQL , MongoDB
• Configuration management : Puppet
• Tools/Utilities: Nagios, DHCP, Kickstart/Cobbler, Yum, RPM, GIT/SVN
• Scripting/Programming: Multiple scripting/programming languages - Bash/PERL/Ruby/Python/.
• Others: Regular expressions, Excellent troubleshooting skills
