Job Position : Research Lead – Financial Research
Job Description :
Oversee financial and investment research projects for various clients including investment banks, corporate finance advisories, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, large corporations and consultancy firms
•Manage work on varied projects that may include.
•Equity and Fixed Income/Credit research, including company and sector reports, financial modeling, forecasting and valuation
•M&A research such as target identification, market sizing, company profiling, merger modeling, valuation comps, pitch book preparation
•Comprehensive financial analysis of companies and peer benchmarking for corporate/ consulting clients
•Industry studies, Macroeconomic research
•Data-intensive tasks such as screening companies based on appropriate financial and operating metrics
•Lead one or more project teams, guiding team(s) on all aspects including scoping, timelines, content, client engagement
•Review work thoroughly to ensure consistently high quality output, value addition and adherence to timelines; be able to judge required level of own involvement on projects, execute parts of projects if situation so demands
•Function as a “client lead”, assuming ownership of assigned client accounts – be the main point of contact for client, prioritize work flow, negotiate project timelines/scope, collect feedback and address any issues promptly, identify up-selling/cross-selling opportunities
•Must possess excellent client communication and engagement skills, and ability to quickly understand client requirements and working style
•Provide analysts with effective verbal/written feedback; counsel analysts on technical as well as business skills and guide them on best practices
•Keep analyst team motivated, handle difficult situations such as dissatisfaction/disagreement among team, escalate to seniors in a timely manner
•Must have excellent grasp of financial concepts and their application across all areas of financial analysis and valuations
•Must have expertise in analyzing companies and industries within overall macroeconomic environment, thorough understanding and awareness of financial markets
Skills
•4-6 years experience in Financial and/or Investment Research in a KPO or Consulting Firm
•Extensive experience in financial modeling; forecasting; valuations; writing investment research
•Extensive experience in end-to-end management of projects
•Extensive experience in day-to-day management of and communication with clients
•Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and valuations, industry analysis, macroeconomic analysis
•Thorough understanding of financial markets and awareness of developments therein
•Excellent communication (both written and oral) and presentation skills
•Business acumen in analytics, business valuation and financial research
•People and team handling skills
•Excellent secondary research skills
•Master’s or Post Graduate degree in Finance or Chartered Accountant
