Job Description :
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a similar position including general experience in Life Sciences, Genomics or Pharmaceutical industries
• Strong statistical programming with R/Bioconductor/Matlab/SAS
• Experience with building / supporting / using bioinformatics pipelines
• Experience with Perl / Python or other scripting languages
• Experience with statistical and mathematical modeling with genomic data
• Experience with genomic analysis of sequencing data
• Experience with machine learning, Bayesian statistics, clustering/classification, signal/noise analysis, multivariate analysis, and/or ROC analysis
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent time and project management skills
Skills
•Analyze massively parallel signature sequencing (MPSS) clinical genomic data, gene expression and/or next-generation sequencing including RNASeq, CHiPSeq data for the discovery of novel transcripts, novel isoforms, novel gene fusions, RNA editing, or transposon expression and reintegration.
•Work collaboratively with research scientists to develop and implement statistical solutions pertaining to chromosomal variant analysis, genome annotation and public genomics/genetics databases
•Develop statistical/mathematical models to identify genomic variants such as chromosomal insertions, deletions, CNVs, or SNPs
•Develop new methods related to GWAS (e.g. rare variant associations, pathways/gene-networks based analyses, using eQTL and ENCODE resources to identify causal variation)
•Accurately identify mutations from clinical next-generation sequencing data, characterize the spectrum of genetic mutations in patient tumors, develops and refine filtering criteria for appropriate elimination of false positive mutation calls
•Differential gene expression analyses, functional genomic annotations & pathway/gene networks
•Population genetic analysis of high resolution variation data to infer selection, demography
•Statistical data analysis to support assay development experiments and guide experimental approaches
•Collaborate with scientific research community to develop advanced analysis method for genomic analysis
•Works on complex biological problems in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors
