Job Position : Unit Head – Strategic Services Group

Job Description :

Project Management
•Conversant with secondary research through databases, statistics and ministry websites, as well as general research (SEC Filings etc.) and primary research involving discussions with industry stakeholders
•Expertise in overseeing multiple project teams being led by Project Leads and play the role of an advisor, where required
•Understand research objectives, design research strategy, interpret and analyze information for accuracy, exhaustiveness and applicability in resolving the research problem
•Ability to strategically guide Projects Leads who are responsible for understanding of client brief, developing the approach and structure of the report and analyzing and synthesizing the information to address the project objectives
•Strong analytical skills with exposure to research aspects such as Porter’s analysis, 4Cs, GE-McKinsey matrix to be applied across projects on market entry strategy, M&A due diligence, procurement analysis and market attractiveness studies; ability to assess the risks and benefits of alternative solutions
•Develop work plan for the team and have visibility into client engagement milestones etc. in an organized fashion
•Translate client objectives into clear deliverables with associated priorities and constraints; ability to estimate the effort required in a project to ensure efficient utilization of resources
•Take complete ownership of quality related aspects
•Develop solutions to problems, balancing the risks and implications across multiple projects

People Management
•Capable of managing a team of 50-60 analysts/senior analysts/Project Leads with responsibilities such as steering the team in the right direction, and ensuring all work is aimed at meeting client objectives
•Manage team morale and motivate team members to navigate through tense situations
•Provide effective, on-time and objective feedback to team members; provide effective/constructive feedback for their overall grooming and development
•Act as a guide and mentor to team members
•Actively involved in the career growth of team members including Managers/Assistant Managers, chalking out their growth path on a monthly basis and tracking the same to ensure constant growth; responsible for appraisal of Managers/Assistant Managers working with him/her
•Identify and address people issues at an organization level develop possible solutions
•Enhance the talent quotient of the unit by periodically meeting with the analysts or Project Leads to instill best practices of research execution, project management and client relationship management

Client Management
•Manage multiple clients end-to-end; would include regular interaction with the client to strengthen the relationship and be on top of identifying opportunities to act as a solutions provider
•Actively involved in writing proposals and conducting scoping and effort estimation for projects in the pipeline to provide prior visibility to the client
•Identify opportunities to cross-sell and provide value-adds to his/her existing clients and aid in growing the account in the long run
•Anticipate client needs and pitch with new services to boost existing relationship
•Aid in decision making related to client management
•Coordinate on behalf of the client to keep track of all the projects within the organization and assess any support requirements
•Ability to have face to face interaction with the client, presenting TSC capabilities and discussing their business needs
•Work in tandem with the business development heads to identify opportunities to further expand presence with existing clients and look out for new clients by leveraging the existing capabilities

Organizational Tasks
•Conduct training and develop training modules at an organizational level
•Build and handle new dynamic teams to achieve specific tasks
•Ability to identify potential in junior members of the team and entrust them with more responsibilities to help them grow
•Ability to delegate responsibly and monitor the same
•Ability to go out of his/her way to help out any team in need; keeping the organizational goals above individual goals
•Manage stakeholders to deal with operational and research delivery related initiatives
•Active participation in the recruitment process of new joiners from various campuses as well as for lateral hires
•Leading various organizational initiatives including new product development, portal management and ideating for new concepts at the organization level

Experience
•7 to 10 years of experience in research (KPO) industry similar profiles
•Excellent business research skills, as evidenced by extensive experience in utilizing those skills in research environment
•Experience in handling large team(s)
•Superior problem solving abilities and strong analytical thinking
•Experience in handling/overseeing multiple projects and proven ability to manage resources efficiently
•Experience of working closely with senior management at an organizational level to execute initiatives relevant for overall firm
•Experienced in playing a client facing role (over the phone and email as well as face to face) to manage expectations, understand their requirements and execute the task with the given team on a regular basis

Knowledge
•Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of various industries and other concepts such as best practices, strategy and key performance indicators
•Knowledge of extrapolating qualitative findings to develop conclusions to aid in tactical and strategic level decision making
•Knowledge of economics and industry forces without necessarily researching these
•Knowledge of various databases such as DialogPro, OneSource, Factiva, ProFound
•Knowledge of MS Office and using Power Point, Excel and Word in a creative manner to deliver the desired output

Skills
•Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
•project management – ability to constantly maintain the quality levels across all projects, ability to do multi-tasking
•Client management – establish client relationship with continued support and building the account
•People management – ability to handle large teams, peoples’ aspirations, career goals and help them grow with the firm

Education
•Degree in numerate discipline (economics, engineering, science or commerce from a reputed institute in India or abroad)
•MBA
