Job Position : IT Business Partner - VP/Director Level

Job Description :

The purpose of this role, is to ensure maximum business benefit are gained through consolidated business IT plans. This is an individual contributor role dedicated to coordination and liaison activities with the Business and IT and to applying best practices for the business use of IT. The individual will drive consolidation and optimization of business processes across functions and engage with the technical and operational teams to ensure an optimal system solution is implemented and planned for release into the organisation.
The role will work with business sponsors, analysts, architects, engineers and project managers, to consolidate efforts both during the planning and execution of business strategy and implementation of IT projects. The incumbent will also work closely with the Corporate Strategy team to align business and IT plans, and the Business Excellence team to ensure quality compliance is incorporated into business as usual activities.
With the support of the Architecture Board, this role will
• promote that budgets and resources are directed toward long term strategic initiatives,
• manage the relationships with stakeholders in articulating how and why certain direction is being followed, and
• develop “Change Agents” in the respective functions to support and manage adoption plans.

The role will be responsible to lead the collaboration between IT and business owners (and their delegates) to assure business processes are optimized end-to-end, reducing costs and increasing productivity through technology solutions that create business value and industry advantage. This work includes engaging business and IT leadership to adopt best standards in defining, documenting and managing the ownership of business process, business data and business rules. The role is responsible for translating this information into IT plans agreed and scheduled with the IT organization.

Major Activities
• Articulate best practice business processes and capabilities
• Develop and maintain Business / Systems roadmaps
• Lead Business and IT to design, optimize, doc
ument and implement End-to-End, To-Be business processes
• Change Management
• Alignment of corporate, business and IT strategy plans
• Business Excellence and NPI (New Product Introduction) stage gating validation
• Support and manage on-boarding of new products and services
• Onboarding compliance (readiness checklists, testing validation, user adoption) with business change agents
• Manage and execute quarterly Roadmap and AOP (Annual Operating Plan) review and update
• Conducts monthly roadmap and strategy reviews Sponsors and Stakeholders
• Prepare and support IT Steering committee artefacts for Board Level review

Qualifications:
• Portfolio/Program Management certifications required
• TMF certification desirable
• Business/Enterprise architecture certifications desired
• Bachelor Degree required
• Master’s Degree desirable

Skills Required -
• Consulting experience with global telecom providers preferred
• Expert knowledge of the existing Telco and IT business domains
• Working experience with multiple OSS/BSS functional areas such as; Opportunity and Order Management, Customer Care, Customer Relationship Management, Workflow Management, Data Mining & Warehousing, Self-Care Portals, Product Lifecycle Management, Service Delivery, Service Assurance, Inventory & Asset Management, and Billing & Financials
• The ability to understand and assimilate complex network technologies and concepts (SDH/SONET, Ethernet, MPLS, VOIP, IP VPN, E-LAN, WiMax, etc.) as demonstrated by previous work experience is required
• Working level knowledge of IT infrastructure technology, operational and support processes and practices

Work Experience
• 10+ of Telecom experience
• At least 5 years of management grade experience
• Program & Portfolio Management Experience essential
• History of developing processes for leading global service providers is required
• 3+ of experience in applying Six Sigma and TOGAF methodologies – certification and forum training strongly preferred in these areas.
3+ experience in developing and executing business strategy<
