Job Position : MySQL DBA – (MS 102)

Job Description :

Min 3 years of strong experience as a MySQL DBA on Linux
•Demonstrated experience with MySQL database design, implementation, performance tuning, and capacity planning
•Strong experience in MySQL high availability & scalability (replication setup & cluster)
•Proven experience in managing medium to large production databases (complex OLTP and/or data warehouse)
•Good experience on linux shell scripting
•Able to work under pressure and multi-tasking capabilities
•Open to work in a multiple DB environment where major databases are MySQL 5.x, Infobright, Oracle 11g & Cassandra
•Exposure to NoSQL distributed databases such as Cassandra, Hadoop is a plus
•Exposure to telecom domain is a plus
•Good team player with strong analytical, communication skills
•Pro-active, dedicated, committed and responsible

Responsibilities
•Work closely with Project leads, developers and validation teams during requirement analysis, design, development and testing phases
•Implement MySQL DB schema (writing installation scripts, tables, indexes, procedures, functions, triggers, etc)
•Troubleshoot MySQL DB issues, maintain availability & scalability (replication, cluster) at production sites, labs and test-beds
•Optimize/tune MySQL database & queries for high capacity
•Perform database admin activities such as MySQL DB installation, backup, recovery, upgrade whenever required
•Perform data migration whenever required
•Prepare schema upgrade scripts & perform audits to eliminate schema discrepancies
•Write shell scripts to support specific requirements/automation
• Provide consultation to development teams w.r.t. MySQL features
•Perform database sizing estimates (capacity planning)
•Work as part of a team and provide 24*7 support whenever required
