Job Position : Manager – Global Sourcing

Job Description :

Managing procurement activities for ORC & Vaccine Formulation R&D including planning, budgeting of inventory and implementation of strategic procurement activities for Intermediates
•API (Domestic and regulated market) from R&D to commercial production and exhibit batches.
•Sourcing of excipients, Solvents for R&D and commercial supply to the plant
•key decision makers of vendor organizations for better price advantage
•Select potential suppliers using database and other resources
•Acquire all updates from the selected suppliers and evaluate their suitability (DMF filed, FDA approval, IP advantage etc.)
•Finalise vendor after intense negotiations.
•Proactively anticipate the requirements of Analytical development, Regulatory, Quality Compliance, Stability etc. to ensure timely filing of documents related to the activities required for product registration
•Co-ordination with QA, QC, DRA & Marketing for the approval for Product Specifications and Vendor Development.
•Harmonize with the other development centres and corporate office to abide with the business goals.
•Customize vendor development/audit programmes from the global guidelines and effectively implement for organizational improvement in vendor management practices.
•Backward cost calculation on the basis of molar ratio is the criteria of price negotiation, price trend analysis.
•GMP Audit and visiting supplier visits and evaluations to determine suitability for continued use and inclusion of new suppliers to preferred list based on business needs.
•Comprehensively mapped all suppliers and having their product pipeline on fingertips
•Specialist in procurement of Culture Media, CRM, Cell Lines, Excipients RLD from global and domestic sources
•Master at Price Negotiation from Lab Scale to commercial production
•Must be able to leverage existing contacts with zero gestation
•Regularly attended CPhi Worldwide for last 5 years
•Must be a master in price negotiation and should have supplier information on finger tips-capability to recall names of potential suppliers with respective of special excipients, CRM globally. Aware of global price trends on a day-day basis
•Must have proven negotiation ability of sourcing materials cheaper for commercial production than for pilot (lab scale)
•Must be aware as to how the Generics (Biopharmaceuticals/Vaccine) industry is evolving

Experience
• 7 – 10 years with atleast last 5 years in similar role and being at # 2/3 level in the SCM team

• M.Sc. Biotechnology
