Job Position : Manager- Finance & Accounts (VAT)

Job Description :

Educational Qualifications: CA in 1st or 2nd attempt, service Tax, Income Tax experience, general accounting knowledge preferably sales accounting. VAT expertise is a must.

Years of experience: 1-2 years in big 4 company’s

Other additional requirements: Good spoken and written English. Especially required to draft written replies/letters to the tax department

Key Responsibilities:
VAT
• Review of VAT return for Maharashtra/Northern states before filing
• Documentation and appearance before tax authorities for completion of assessments
• Review of cost cards to ensure right taxes taken - VAT, state excise etc.
• Periodical review of Tax Structure on Sales Invoices to ensure it is tax compliant
• Provide support on various vat/sales tax/Central Sales Tax matters to sales admin and sales team working closely with the CFO
• Study the Act & Rules and providing solutions to complex tax problems – For e.g. free issue of products on sale invoice, treating discount
• Identify new and assist CFO in various Tax planning initiatives
• Central Tracker for all pending C form/F form to ensure no demand raised in tax assessments on the company
• Advising winery on various vat matters including vat credit, documents to be maintained for vat compliance etc.
• In case of any demand raised/show cause notice raised to prepare and file appropriate reply to VAT authorities
• Dealing with VAT consultants
• Review VAT refund documents and keeping track & follow up for pending VAT refunds.

Service Tax
• Review of all service tax paid and prepare/ensure timely filing of Service Tax return
• Work with CFO on opportunities to tax structuring and tax planning

Income Tax & TDS
• Advise on technical matters TDS applicability, returns, assessments
• Review Tax computation and working of the company

Sales Finance
• Work with Sales Finance Manager on implementation of initiatives such as PSBC for distributors
• Work with sales in helping in implementing credit policy & credit limits
• Surprise audits
