Job Position : Linux & Unix Engineer

Job Description :

• Managing hardware components through remote hand support & vendor co-ordination

• Linux OS & other Unix Flavor Installation and Configuration

• File System management, installation, tuning and support

• Local Disk Management & formatting with Choice of RAID

• Tuning/Configuring Kernel Parameter as per application requirement

• OS level/Storage/logical volume manager management, installation and support

• Restore OS image for AIX (Provided locally attached tape drive is available)

• Installation and support for OS clustering software like:

• Red Hat Cluster, VERITAS Cluster, SUN Cluster, SUSE Linux Cluster

• Security Management

• Server Hardening

• Patch management of all servers for licensed OS on half yearly basis

• Administrative Tasks

• Backup & Restore activities (Including compliancy testing for SOX)

• Solaris Zones Support -Installation & configuration

• Solaris Fault Manager & Solaris Service Manager Support

• Micro-Partitioning Support (LPAR) for AIX

• Package installation provided with OS Media

• Resource Allocation and configuration for AIX LPARs.

• Prepare Monthly Activity Calendar for regular maintenance activities.



Required a good people and process management knowledge along with technology knowledge which would help team and process growth.

Should be a good guider and easy to approach attitude.

Process Knowledge: Incident management, problem and change management process. Ability to implement process improvement initiatives in these areas. ( mandatory )
