Job Position : IT Asset Managment Lead
Job Description :
Key Objective / Purpose of the Job:
ITAM/Asset Management Lead role is responsible for enterprise-wide planning, tracking, controlling, analyzing and reporting of all hardware and software asset activities. This individual will report directly to the VP of IT Ops & support and will work closely with all the Technology Infrastructure and Finance groups to ensure the accuracy of data in the Asset Management repository.
The IT Asset Management function is the primary point of accountability for the life-cycle management of information technology assets throughout the organization.
Included in this responsibility are development and maintenance of policies, standards, processes, systems and measurements that enable the organization to manage the IT Asset Portfolio with respect to risk, cost, control, IT Governance and compliance.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors/Diploma in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
12-18 years of experience in the information technology field.
5-7 years of management level experience in IT.
ITIL certification preferred.
PMP certification desired.
Essential Job Duties:
Establish, evolve and manage the processes and policies for IT Asset and software compliance management.
Set strategic direction for IT asset management in conjunction with internal and external audit processes. Ensure Enterprise-Wide software support renewals
Oversee the management of all IT assets accurately throughout all locations/offices
Central Point to Manage Supplier and Internal Audit Responses. Ensure support and compliance.
Influence and manage asset management aspects of ongoing relationship with established IT Suppliers.
Establish and Manage Demand, procurement and delivery processes from IT perspective in collaboration with Support groups.
Ensure procurement and delivery is in line with the expectations.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategies to retain leverage with managing and using existing IT assets, in particular software assets.
Collaborate with key stakeholders (including Sourcing and decentralized Business Unit leads) to align annual software true-up and support renewals for software managed by decentralized and global business units.
Serve as subject matter expert and program manager for emerging worldwide software asset tracking and asset management program, process, tools and collaboration
Manage process for tracking adherence and usage of asset management processes and tools.
Provide oversight; develop metrics and standard operating procedures for all hardware and software license management.
Provide detailed weekly and monthly status reports to management for IT assets, compliance, audits and project assignments.
Realize opportunities for asset optimization and ensure mitigation of risks associated with IT assets.
Accountable for documenting savings, avoidance and risk management.
Mentor, guide and coach direct reports in order to expand their capabilities and build management depth within the organization.
Ensure that training, coaching and mentoring programs are developed, implemented and effective for all levels of the reporting staff.
Direct Infrastructure project assignments - special projects as required.
Support vendor management
Serve as a major team member in the Operations focus group.
Serve as a major team member in Disaster Recovery focus group.
Serve as a major team member in the Compliance focus group.
Technical Skills:
Strong asset management background including tool sets: CA (preferred), Remedy, Maximo, Service Center, Altiris, freeware etc.
ITIL Software Asset Management (SAM) experience
Knowledge to query the CMDB and other source systems (Oracle / MS SQL)
Microsoft Office Professional experience
Ability to multi-task and prioritize with great initiative and a \\\'can-do\\\' attitude
Ability to grasp new technologies quickly
Understanding of IT hardware/software licensing/maintenance models
Deep proficiency with software license management and related procurement practices
Participation in program implementation and management for software asset management
Experience working with IT Suppliers (Oracle, Dell, Microsoft, SAP, Etc.)
Familiarity with IT Cost Saving initiatives and reporting
Ability to Travel (when required to fulfill assigned tasks)
Understanding of software reseller industry and experience managing software reseller supplier(s)Experienced participation in merger, acquisition and divestiture projects

10-15 years of IT work experience for following activities:
IT Asset Management
Software compliance management
Project management
Demand and Fulfillment management
Running ITAM as a function for last 2-3 years
Experience and currently managing similar role using ITIL processes.
Experienced in using ITAM tools – freeware and from major vendors
Managing a global team and part of a global organization with extensive IT assets.
