Job Position : Head of Transmission Planning and Project

Job Description :

To drive Transmission Planning Activities in coordination with Circles Teams, Core & Radio planning teams in accordance with Business requirement.
•Planning, coordination & Execution of Transmission Network including MW systems as per the network deployment need. Responsible for identifying and deploying new technologies in Transmission Network.
•Proactive communication with Business and Technical stakeholders, defining Transmission network planning strategy and Capacity planning for optimized Transmission Network Architecture.
•Responsible for establishment of Point of Interconnect with all Private/Government Operators.
•Responsible to build, develop and motivate Transmission teams, with special focus on companies’ values and Code of conduct .
Key Result Areas/ Key Deliverables
•Formulate and design Transmission Network Plan in accordance with the Planned GSM network in discussion with Circle Heads, RF Planning Head , Core Planning Head and Network Rollout Head.
•To ensure that the Transmission plan meets organizational requirements of providing required network connectivity resulting in lowest possible OPEX and CAPEX .
•Identify equipment to be procured for development of the network, including new technology identification, review and approval of technical specifications, vendor identification and evaluation.
•Interact with vendors for new network products/features to enhance quality of service , Cost Optimization and value addition to the network.
•Determine and document Standards, Specifications and planning Guidelines for Transmission network engineering and monitor adherence to these standards by circles.
•Identifies areas of Capacity Management & Optimization of Transmission Cost and implementation thereof.
•Establishment of TX Network as per formulated Project plan and requirement.
•Regular interaction with Bandwidth Providers, coordination with all stakeholders and Ensuring timely implementation of ordered Bandwidth as per circle Rollout/Operation requirement.
•Monitor Transmission network rollout to ensure that it is as per plans and take corrective action where deviations are observed at the circles.
•Coordinating/Interacting with all Private /Government Operators for establishment/Augmentation of Point of Interconnection (PoI) for Access/NLD connectivity
•Develop policies and procedures for management of the Transmission network (e.g. policies related to Management of MW systems, Management of MuXs , Utilization parameter for BW & parameter modifications etc). Monitor implementation of these policies and procedures, review and modify based on feedback from the circles and Service Operation Team.
•Monitor Transmission Network O&M and its performance, develop and implement performance improvement strategies to ensure desired network availability and QoS with best return of Investment.
•Ensure that all Statutory and Regulatory reporting requirements (licensing of equipment, registrations etc.) for the network are fully complied with.
•Providing all Technical inputs/Validated data related to Transmission Network to Legal /Sourcing/Finance.
•Preparation of suitable CAPEX & OPEX budget related to Transmission Network based on network plans, monitor and control adherence to these budgets during the year.

Education
•At least a degree in Electronics and/or Telecommunications

Experience
•Minimum 12 years professional experience, 2 years leadership experience

Competencies
•Specific experience in Transmission Network Design
•Good communication and coordination skills
•Ability to work under high pressure and with time constraints
•Structured approach and proper planning knowledge
•Good knowledge of wireless/mobile communications systems, particularly the Transmission Network planning and in particular with Transmission Nodes Dimensioning and Transmission Topologies
•Good leadership skills
•Experience in team management
