Job Position : GM – Business Development & Strategy – GVS

Job Description :

1. Provide inputs for Strategy direction for growth of Voice business in SAARC and Asia Pacific Region.

Ideate areas of new product, new carrier segments, new revenue avenues, within the region including GTM strategy for New Products and New Segments.



2. Guide the Solution sales efforts in SAARC and Asia Pac at later date. This would include help in;

a. Ideating or spotting the NEED,

b. Drive solution selling by creative bundling of products & solutions. Customize solution offerings

c. Guide commercial deal governance,

d. BU-Legal/Regulatory Interface

e. Support sales in closure with customer from time to time.

f. Support commercial solutions Design for infrastructure based outsourcing deals

g. Support Sales Team for Long Term Deal Governance and commercial management



3. Provide Business intelligence inputs for SAARC & Asia Pac Voice Destination Strategy by providing analysis of published data related for Voice & Data, Wholesale and Enterprise. Some examples;

a. Destination size and Companies’ market share

b. Revenue analysis of RSP segment, Subsidiary companies performance,

c. AOP Versus Actuals. Sales Quota Versus Actuals. Analysis.



4. Collate information and Presentations for the following areas/events

a. Business reviews

b. AOP’s and projections

c. Various Strategic plans and projects

d. Some Customer Solutions proposals

e. Any other as need arises



5. Lead Strategic Projects that develop from time to time in the SAARC & Asia Pacific Region. These could be Network related, Customer Relationship lead, New revenue ideas or models.

a. Drive focused Strategic Projects on brand, events, cost efficiency and product innovations.



6. Guide and support the growth Strategy for both voice and data in terms of market share growth, new channel, new segments new products.



7. Coordinate with Global Marcom team for SAARC and Asia Pac visibility projects.

a. Companies’ visibility

b. Companies’ SAARC customer event and SAAITO



8. AOP, Long term, & ROY projections and business case planning



Key Performance Indicators

• Overall Strategic ideas and inputs for growth to the sales team.

• Number of Strategic and Solution Deals closed and Revenues generated from them.

• Business Proposals for infrastructure based solutions and data bundling deals.

• Successful implementation of Strategic projects as per objectives identified.

• Closure of mVOIP White label platform deals.

• Analytics and Business intelligence to the Sr VP SAARC and Asia Pac



Qualification – Necessary requirement

• MBA with Marketing & Sales specialization from a premier B-School.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computers.



Experience – Necessary requirement

• 12-15 Years Telecom Domain Experience

• Telecom- Carrier Business Voice and preferably data domain knowledge.

• Understanding of the wholesale voice business and the Telecom Value Chain

• Knowledge of regulatory and licensing environment for the region.

• Exposure to Project Management and experience of working in cross-functional teams

1. Telecom Domain, technology, trends and commercial acumen with a regulatory/legal knowledge

2. Analytical Skills & business acumen to analyze & visualize emerging business trends/challenges and build strategy for new revenue streams. Number crunching skills to develop AOPs and Long Term Business Plans

3. Leadership Skills of taking responsibility and efficient execution

4. Project Management Skills for end-end implementation of projects across functional teams.

5. Presentations Skills – Data collation, messaging & structuring of CXO level presentations and presentation / communication skills

6. Good interpersonal skills to work with sales teams and cross functional teams.
