Job Position : Deputy General Manager- Solutions Engineering

Job Description :

Provide thought leadership & technical guidance to the team for complex solutions.
•Ensure the team’s performance with a constant focus on profitability.
•Lead technical workshops with customers for generating opportunities & detailed requirement capturing.
•Act as the escalation manager & a mentor for the team with constant review & feedback.
•Act as Key stakeholder in the decision making process for bidding on solutions for large & complex opportunities.
•Provide continuous, structured market feedback to internal Product & Engineering teams for enhancing the product portfolio.
•May also have solution ownership for large to very large strategic opportunities.
•Will be involved in pre-sales conversations (CXO level interaction) for influencing the business & technical decision making process towards products & services.
•Responsible for team performance & continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
•Develops best practices, road map for the solution with the help of the product and field sales team.
•Runs special projects to create a healthy pipeline for Managed Hosting & cloud business within the existing or new customer base.
•Accountable for enhancing the team’s knowledge level & thereby workout & implement a training & development roadmap for self & the team.
•Should have good grasp on the India & APAC Datacenter, Managed
Hosting & Private & Public cloud market position with competitive landscape information.
•Travel - 30%

Experience
•Minimum 12 years’ experience in Information Technology / Datacenter, Cloud & Managed services / IT System Integration field.
•Should have lead a team focussed on solution sales Or Pre-sales. Alternatively a senior customer facing role in a large service delivery organization is also acceptable.
•Solution Architecture and Pre sales experience on Managed Hosting & Cloud Computing.
•Prior technical background on creating infrastructure solutions for applications such as SAP / any other ERP, Messaging & Database technologies with a Managed Services Provider, Telco or ISP will be a definite plus.
•Preferred Professional Certification
•Bachelor of Engineering Degree.
•Alternatively a Graduate with technical Certification on Windows Solaris, Unix, Storage, virtualization technologies, Database technologies etc. is required.
•MBA degree will be preferred.

Skills
•Suitable candidates will possess a track record of successful Solutioning, Practice Management, Pre-Sales function for a Hosting Centre / Service preferably on Windows and / or Various Unix operating systems.
•Should have working experience creating infrastructure solutions & sizing for applications like SAP, Messaging, Databases (Oracle, My SQL or MS SQL).
•Should have clear understanding of all Internet Data Centre (IDC) technology & current service offerings in the managed services market like collocation, server & database management, monitoring, reporting, server automation
•Should have complete understanding of a cloud computing environment (infrastructure as a service) & should be able to compare various cloud based solutions in the market.
•Should have complete understanding of Datacenter networking on LAN side involving access switches, load balancing solutions etc as well as knowledge on WAN technologies
•Intermediate level knowledge of storage systems like SAN, NAS, IP based storage etc. Experience in sizing & creating customer solutions on storage will be an advantage.
•Should have intermediate knowledge in design & sizing of security products like Firewalls / UTM devices, Anti Virus / Anti SPAM appliance based technologies & lower end software firewalls
•Should understand various technology building block of Hosting Centre and should be familiar with its Operations best practices. Exceptional individuals with strong h/w, s/w integration experience will be considered
•First class stakeholder management and people management skills
•Experience in designing / implementing large enterprise hosting data centre solutions is vital.
•Understand Commercial aspect while designing a solution. Should have worked with Cross functional teams.
•Should have experience in working with different vendors & OEMs & managing the vendor relationship on more than a transactional level.
