Job Position : Development Manager
Job Description :
Define and implement software development best practices to deliver the customer projects with superior quality and within agreed timeframe
•To guide, assign and control the assigned development team to develop super scalable SaaS managed application
•Development of major recognized on-line application sites/ solutions, e.g. Demandware based sites and order management system
•Design the technical solution to build the highly scalable platform, with reusability
•Being a hands on technical person, ensure the best practices of software development are being followed religiously and corrective actions taken whenever necessary
•Lead by example and bring in best practices of development to improve the productivity of the team
•Drive initiatives around continuous improvement, quality and support approaches to improve productivity and efficiency in all areas
•Improve Client satisfaction through on time delivery with quality and agreed scope.
•Responsible for the quality, productivity, efficiency and billable utilization of the engineering team
•To ensure code quality standards are in place and being implemented. Code is produced to the highest standard
•To bring in the high level standards for unit testing, code reviews, configuration management etc.
Skills
•Hands on experience of any programming language, preferably Java
•In depth knowledge and practical experience of HTML5, xhtml, xml
•Expert knowledge of CSS3
•In depth, thorough commercial experience of Javascript, Jquery
•Cross browser and platform development experience, including web development for mobile and tablet
•Understanding of site usability issues
•A detailed understanding of Internet technologies (HTTP, caching, CDNs, DNS)
•Able to define technical approach for development team
•Strong experience of code design and review
•A thorough understanding of development practices such as source code control and change management, and documentation
• A thorough knowledge of best practices of Quality Assurance and control
•Practical experience of developing sites using responsive design
•Knowledge of Web accessibility according to WAI guidelines and W3C coding standards
•An understanding of site performance issues and strategies to optimise
•Experience of modern JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone, Angular
•Experience of JavaScript libraries such as Modernizr, YepNope, Underscore, Require etc
EXPERIENCE
•Minimum experience 7+ years in global software companies. Experience in managing development staff of 20 – mandatory minimum 3 years
EDUCATION
•Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline
•MCA or other Master’s degree and any other technical qualifications
